The Clarus II System
The Clarus II is a fully modular, mission-ready tactical communication system engineered to deliver clear radio transmission, active hearing protection, and superior situational awareness in the harshest environments. Built on Silynx’s proven in-ear technology and tested to MIL-STD-810G for extreme durability, the Clarus II provides a rugged, lightweight, and highly dependable solution for professional operators.
At the core of the system is the Clarus II Control Box, a compact, waterproof command unit that drives the audio engine, provides Hear-Thru™ environmental awareness, powers the system, and gives the user intuitive control—even with gloved hands. Tactile buttons and voice feedback ensure confident operation in darkness, noise, or high-stress conditions.
The Clarus II pairs with the Protego In-Ear Headset, delivering exceptional voice clarity through Silynx’s proprietary in-ear microphone, environmental microphones for awareness or whisper-level communication, and foam-sealed earbuds for superior hearing protection. The headset is designed for all-day comfort and high-intensity operations.
The Clarus II features a built-in dual-radio connection, enabling simultaneous connectivity to two radios or intercom systems without requiring an external splitter. This streamlined architecture reduces cable clutter while maintaining full dual-comms functionality.
In addition, the Clarus II includes a third, central PTT button, enabling advanced multi-network control. This unique design allows an operator to run one single-channel radio (or intercom) and one dual-channel radio simultaneously.
PTT A: Transmit on the primary channel

The Clarus II control box is the compact, rugged, and fully waterproof command center of the Clarus II system. Engineered for the harshest operational conditions, it provides effortless operation even with gloved hands, featuring large tactile buttons and intuitive ergonomics that ensure confident control in darkness, noise, or high-stress environments.
With clear voice feedback on every user action, the control box becomes the brain of the system—driving the Hear-Thru™ awareness engine, processing audio, and keeping the operator alert and connected in any scenario.
Designed for maximum flexibility, the Clarus II control box works on a single AA battery or can be powered directly by the radio. It supports multiple headset configurations, including Silynx Protego in-ear headsets, over-the-ear systems such as Peltor ComTac VIII, maritime/dive-rated headsets, and additional mission-specific audio solutions.
For multi-radio operations, the control box connects with up to two radios simultaneously, without the need of cable splitter. Incoming audio is intelligently routed—primary radio to one ear, secondary to the other—giving the operator instant network differentiation and enhanced situational understanding.

The Protego Pro Headset

The Protego Pro is Silynx’s next-generation in-ear tactical headset, engineered to deliver superior communication clarity, advanced hearing protection, and unmatched environmental awareness in any operational environment.
Its dual-microphone architecture provides exceptional versatility:
In-Ear Microphone – Silynx’s proprietary “Talking From the Ear” technology captures the user’s voice directly from the ear canal, ensuring clear communication even in extreme noise.
Environmental Microphone – Built into the earpiece, it continuously monitors external sounds and brings them to the user at a safe, controlled level. This gives the operator true 360° situational awareness while maintaining full hearing protection. In quiet environments, this same mic can operate as a high-sensitivity whisper microphone, enabling clear low-volume communication.
For missions requiring a traditional mic placement, the Protego Pro also supports an optional close-talk boom microphone, positioned just above the ear for discreet, reliable transmission.
A fully adjustable MOLLE clip ensures the headset routes cleanly and securely on any vest configuration, providing a stable fit during dynamic movement.
To support rapid, intuitive deployment, the Protego Pro includes left/right tactile markings on the external ear retainers, allowing operators to instantly distinguish each earpiece—even in darkness or while wearing gloves.

Boom Microphone
The Silynx Boom Microphone adds mission-ready versatility to the Protego Pro headset, delivering clear, direct voice capture when operations call for a traditional close-talk mic. Designed for seamless integration, it attaches easily to a vest or helmet, positioning the microphone near the user’s mouth for optimal speech clarity in low-noise or controlled environments.
When conditions turn extreme, the boom mic can be instantly disconnected—and the system automatically switches back to Silynx’s proprietary Talking-From-the-Ear mode without any user action required. This ensures uninterrupted communication, even in the harshest noise environments.

Drone detection
Silynx Drone Detection is an advanced audio enhancement mode designed to help operators hear distant drone activity earlier and more clearly. When activated, the system amplifies the specific frequency ranges produced by drone motors and rotors—making these sounds stand out from the surrounding environment.
This enhanced acoustic awareness allows users to detect drones sooner than they normally would by ear alone, improving readiness during patrols, perimeter security, reconnaissance, or urban operations.
Simple, intuitive, and effective, Drone Detection gives teams an additional layer of awareness exactly when they need it.
Net Monitoring
Net Monitoring gives operators instant clarity and control when working across multiple communication networks. With the Clarus II dual-comms configuration, the system intelligently separates incoming audio—primary radio to one ear, secondary radio to the other—allowing the user to immediately distinguish which network is active without breaking focus.
This natural left/right audio separation enhances situational awareness, reduces confusion during high-traffic communication, and ensures the operator never misses critical information. PTT buttons are independently assigned to each network, enabling rapid, instinctive transmission on the correct channel.
Whisper Mode
Whisper Mode allows operators to communicate clearly in quiet environments by using the environmental microphone on the Protego Pro earpiece. This mic is highly sensitive to low-volume speech, making it ideal when the user needs to speak softly without raising their voice.
When noise levels increase, the operator can instantly switch back to In-Ear Mode, which uses Silynx’s proprietary “talking from the ear” technology. In this mode, the foam earbud seals the ear canal, blocking external noise while still capturing the user’s voice from inside the ear with exceptional clarity.
Whisper Mode gives operators the flexibility to adapt their communication style to any environment—quiet or chaotic—ensuring their voice is always heard.
Leak Test
The Silynx Leak Test ensures operators get maximum protection and performance from their in-ear headsets every time they power up. Activated automatically at startup or manually on demand, the Leak Test checks the seal of each earbud and confirms whether the foam tips are properly fitted in the ear canal.
If the seal is solid, the system quickly clears the user to operate with full hearing protection and optimal audio clarity. If not, the user is notified to adjust the fit for improved performance. This simple yet powerful feature helps maintain consistent protection, clearer communications, and reliable situational awareness in any environment.

Smartphone & EUD Connectivity
The Clarus II platform delivers advanced digital connectivity, allowing operators to interface seamlessly with smartphones, ruggedized tactical tablets, and modern End User Devices (EUDs). Whether through USB-C, Lightning, EUD smart-radio cables, or encrypted Bluetooth wireless links, Clarus II integrates effortlessly into today’s digital battlefield.
Once connected, users gain intuitive control directly from their Clarus system—answering or ending phone calls, adjusting Bluetooth audio volume, and interacting with device functions without ever reaching for the screen. The system also supports data and video transfer from tactical radios to the EUD, enabling live feeds, mission applications, and situational tools to operate in real time.
For app-based communications, Clarus II is fully compatible with leading smartphone PTT messaging platforms such as ESChat and similar mission-critical apps, allowing operators to stay connected across cellular, Wi-Fi, or hybrid networks.
