Comfort & Fit
In-ear headsets designed for all-day operational wear.
How long can someone wear Silynx comfortably?
All day. an European federal police force conducted an 8-hour comparative comfort trial. Silynx was the only system users agreed to wear continuously without removal. The proprietary foam tips are medical-grade, slightly tacky, and expand gently with body heat for a custom seal
What if the earpiece doesn’t fit my ear?
Each system ships with 6 size options (3 ear tip sizes × 2 lens sizes). The Sound Leak Test confirms proper seal – if a size doesn’t work, the system tells you before you go operational.
Can I wear Silynx in-ear headsets with helmets, glasses, and gas masks?
Yes. Because Silynx headsets sit entirely inside the ear canal, they have zero interference with helmets, ballistic eyewear, prescription glasses, gas masks, CBRN respirators, or riot visors. Over-the-ear earmuffs often lose 3–7 dB of protection when glasses break the ear cup seal - Silynx in-ear headsets maintain their full NRR regardless of what other gear you're wearing.
Compatibility & Integration
One system, hundreds of radio and device connections.
What radios are supported?
300+ cable adapters for Motorola, Harris, Kenwood, Sepura, Hytera, Thales, and virtually every other military and law enforcement radio platform. Custom cables for new models are developed within approximately one month.
Can it connect to a mobile phone?
yes. A standard 3.5mm or USB-C cable connects to any mobile device. The system can operate the phone in PTT mode or standard call mode. A Bluetooth-enabled model is also available
Does it work with vehicle intercom systems?
Yes. The control unit connects to vehicle intercoms via standard cables. Full duplex or PTT mode is configurable. The operator transitions seamlessly between dismounted and mounted operations.
Can audio from different sources go to different ears?
Yes. When connected to two devices, audio can be routed with one source per ear (e.g., command radio in left ear, mobile phone in right ear).
Durability & Maintenance
Built to MIL-STD-810G - designed to last a decade.
How waterproof is the system?
20 metres (dive-rated). All electronics are sealed in proprietary epoxy molding. Connectors are metal with waterproof twist-lock design.
What’s the expected field life?
10–15 years in demanding military service. The steel-reinforced cables and snap-proof connectors are specifically designed for rough handling.
What consumables need replacement?
Foam ear tips are the only consumable component. They are inexpensive and easily replaced by the user.
Hearing Protection & Technology
one in-ear system that protects, connects, and keeps you aware.
What is the NRR rating on Silynx headsets?
Silynx PROTEGO PRO in-ear headsets are rated NRR 31 dB - the highest available for in-ear tactical hearing protection. The system provides both passive noise isolation from precision-molded ear tips and active impulse-noise compression that responds in under 1 millisecond to block gunfire, explosions, and sustained high-decibel noise.
What is Hear-Thru and why does it matter?
Hear-Thru is Silynx's electronic ambient pass-through technology. It picks up environmental sound through external microphones and plays it back through the in-ear speakers at adjustable volume - giving you full 360° situational awareness while your hearing protection stays active. You hear footsteps, voice commands, vehicle movement, and warning sounds without removing your ear protection.
What is TRUE VOICE technology?
TRUE VOICE is Silynx's proprietary in-ear microphone system. Instead of using a boom mic or bone conduction, a pin-sized microphone inside the ear canal captures natural speech directly. The result is clear, intelligible voice transmission - even when whispering - with no external microphone to snag, break, or interfere with gear.
Does Silynx use bone conduction?
No. Silynx determined early in development that bone conduction delivers poor voice clarity during whispered speech - a critical requirement in tactical operations. TRUE VOICE in-ear microphone technology outperforms bone conduction for intelligibility, especially at low voice levels.
