Can I use Silynx with a riot helmet and face visor?

Yes. All Silynx in-ear headsets sit inside the ear canal - they fit comfortably under any riot helmet with full visor down, with zero interference. Unlike over-ear muffs, there's no pressure against the helmet shell and no seal break from visor straps. The PROTEGO PRO provides NRR 31 dB hearing protection while maintaining full helmet compatibility.

Does the Silynx in-ear microphone use bone conduction?

No. Silynx determined early in its design cycle that bone conduction is sub-optimal in a tactical environment because of its poor voice clarity when the operator is whispering. Silynx felt that solid voice clarity when whispering was an absolute requirement in the design of its products and opted design in technology that did not rely on bone conduction. Silynx calls this TRUE VOICE technology.

How does the shield-mounted wireless PTT work?

The MWPTT mounts on any Picatinny rail - including riot shields and ballistic shields - via its built-in rail clamp. It pairs wirelessly with your Silynx CLARUS I or CLARUS II control box in seconds. Officers can transmit by pressing the shield-mounted PTT without releasing their grip. The MWPTT WR adds a wired finger PTT for dual operation.

Can officers communicate clearly through a gas mask during riot control?

Yes. The Gas Mask Adaptor Cable connects your PROTEGO headset to any gas mask or respirator. When plugged in, the microphone automatically switches to the gas mask - delivering clear voice transmission from inside the mask without removing any equipment. Silynx's Talking from the Ear technology also provides voice pickup even without the gas mask adaptor.

How does Hear-Thru help during crowd control operations?

Hear-Thru amplifies ambient sound through your in-ear headsets while keeping hearing protection active. During crowd control, this means officers can hear crowd movement, verbal commands from supervisors, warning sounds, and thrown objects - all while being protected from flashbangs, stun grenades, and sustained noise. Five adjustable levels let officers dial in exactly the awareness they need.

Can multiple officers share the same radio channel through Silynx?

Yes. Silynx headsets connect to your existing radio infrastructure - all officers on the same radio channel hear each other as normal. The CLARUS II can manage up to 3 separate radio channels simultaneously, allowing a commander to monitor the tactical net, command net, and ICS intercom at the same time.

Is the system waterproof for water cannon and weather exposure?

Yes. Silynx headsets and controllers are rated IP68 - fully dust-tight and waterproof. They're tested to MIL-STD-810G environmental standards and will operate through rain, water cannon spray, and CS gas exposure. Immersion ratings range from 1 meter to 20 meters depending on the cable configuration.

What radio systems does Silynx support for police riot units?
