The PROTEGO CANINE is designed to fit the head shape of German Shepherds and related breeds. It provides sound protection to the dog while operating simultaneously on two networks: one to provide constant environmental hearing to the operator and the other to maintain an open verbal command channel.
The PROTEGO CANINE is compatible with Silynx PTT/control systems via Silynx modular systems/Quick Disconnect Connector (QDC).

How Silynx Cables Work - One Control Box, Every Radio
The Silynx system is modular by design. The headset, the control box, and the radio cable are three separate components -connected by Quick Disconnect (QDC) on the headset side and a radio-specific connector on the radio side. When you change radios, you change the cable, not the headset or controller. This is the single biggest cost-and-logistics advantage Silynx delivers over fixed-cable competitor systems.

Silynx offers the PROTEGO SDR and PROTEGO PLT — modular over-the-ear headsets developed in collaboration with Sordin & Peltor. Both provide high-NRR hearing protection with Silynx audio integration for operators who prefer the traditional earcup form factor.
When should I choose over-the-ear instead of in-ear?
Over-the-ear headsets are preferred when maximum passive attenuation is required without electronic dependency, when the operator doesn't wear helmets or ballistic eyewear regularly, or when doubling up (in-ear + over-ear) for extreme noise environments like indoor ranges or artillery positions.
Can I use over-the-ear headsets with a helmet?
Yes, with helmet-compatible ear cup adapters. However, for operators who regularly wear ballistic helmets, in-ear headsets (PROTEGO In-Ear series) are recommended for better comfort, lower profile, and zero interference with the helmet shell.
